A practicing attorney for more than 60 years, Martin Mushkin commenced his career upon earning a Bachelor of Business Administration in 1953, followed by a Bachelor of Laws from Harvard University in 1956. Subsequently, he served in the U.S. Air Force as a first lieutenant in the Judge Advocate General Corps from 1956 to 1958. He has since been admitted to practice law by the New York and Connecticut Bar Associations, the U.S. District Court for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit and the U.S. District Court of Connecticut.

In the early days of his career, Mr. Mushkin worked as a senior attorney for the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) from 1960 to 1964. He went on to serve as a partner for Philips & Mushkin, PC and Blodnick, Pomeranz, Schultz & Abramowitz, PC between 1970 and 1988, at which time he spearheaded his own award-winning firm, the Law Offices of Martin Mushkin in New York City, as a principal attorney. Specializing in corporate finance and business litigation, his firm also focuses its practice on securities and cryptocurrency law. He had also been a partner of Pomeranz, Gottlieb & Mushkin, LLC from 1997 to 2019.

Over the years, Mr. Mushkin has contributed written works to various peer-reviewed journals on the topic of corporate finance. With this sentiment, he co-authored the “American Institute CPA’s Handbook on Accountants Liability” in 1977 and authored and served as a co-publisher of “The American/Overseas Investor” from 1990 to 1992. To remain abreast of his industry, he has held membership with the American Bar Association, the Association of the Bar of the City of New York, the Federal Bar Council and the New York State Bar Association, as well as the American Alpine Club and Town of Greenwich, Connecticut Democratic Committee.

Notably, Mr. Mushkin has achieved an AV-Preeminent Rating by Martindale Hubbell. Among various accolades, he is honored to have litigated many arbitrations on behalf of the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, having served on its chairpersons’ panel since 2002. He has also been involved in numerous class-action lawsuits, SEC investigations and co-chaired a course on accountants’ liability, law and litigation for the Practicing Law Institute. Mr. Mushkin concluded his 19-year tenure as a mediator for the U.S. District for the Southern District of New York in 2019 and continues to serve as principal for Mushkinlaw.com.
